Geothermal heating and cooling systems use solar energy found in your backyard, just beneath the earth’s surface, where the temperature remains consistent between 50° and 60°. Utilizing a series of pipes installed underground, this system taps into the sun’s energy to heat and cool your home.

Installation Options

There are a variety of installation designs for all homes even if you have limited land. The installation designs are called Loops and include horizontal, vertical, pond/lake or well water. While the type of geothermal system that’s right for you depends on factors including groundwater availability, conditions of the soil and how much rock surrounds the structure, closed-loop systems are the most common. A water source is essential for an open loop system.

Horizontal Loop – This design requires more space.
Well-Water Loop – Extremely cost-effective for those with a supply of well water.

Vertical Loop – This option is best when land is limited.
Pond/Lake Loop – Cost-effective for those with a pond/lake close to your home.
